Network connection speed at your server is one of the biggest factors affecting your performance. If your server is connected via an ISDN line it will likely perform worse than a comparable server connected via T1 line. The number of Web sites sharing your backbone connection is also a factor. For example, a dedicated ISDN line linked directly to the backbone could be faster than a T1 line shared by a large number of users.
