What Are the Effects of LSD?
An LSD “trip” can be experienced in a wide variety of ways. A trip can be mild for one individual and extremely intense or wild for another. It is not always pleasant.A “typical” LSD trip can be broken down into four phases as follows:Onset- Approximately 30 minutes after taking the drug, sensory perception changes. For example, colors and shapes may appear sharper, moving objects may leave trails behind them and flat surfaces may appear to move or breathe.Plateau- Towards the second hour, the effects may become more intense. Users may see imaginary visions or hallucinations in the air or as part of objects.Peak- For the user, time has slowed down almost to a standstill. Users may feel that they are in a different world or in a video. This may be pleasurable, profound and mystical; or it can be intense, frightening or even terrifying.Aftermath or Come-Down- Four to six hours after taking the drug, the sensations begin to subside. By six to eight hours after, the trip itself may be over
