What are the effects of HBOT?
HBOT is painless, although during pressurization and decompression of the treatment chamber, patients may experience ear popping similar to that experienced when flying in an airplane. The rate of pressure change will however be adjusted for the patient’s comfort. When chamber pressurization is completed, the patient breathes oxygen from an aviation type mask. In some cases, patients may feel a little light headed for a few minutes after treatment. For this reason we do not allow them to drive for up to an hour after each exposure.
