What are the effects if one mixes synthroid (the medication) with food?

My understanding is that there is no direct harm to taking synthroid (or other thyroid hormone medication) with food. It’s just that the medication is absorbed better if you take it on an empty stomach. So, taking it with food diminishes its effect somewhat. Full disclosure: I take thyroid hormone and have taken it with food with no ill effects.
