What are the educational requirements to take the CPA exam?
As mentioned earlier, the educational requirements to take US CPA exam vary from State to State. Each foreign candidate must have his/her education equated to the U.S. system in order to determine eligibility. The member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants , Cost and Works Accountants, Company Secretaries of India or C.A. (Inter) or M.Com. are allowed to take CPA Exam. If you are a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, you do not need to have your university transcripts evaluated. Simply submit a copy of your membership certificate with your application to take the exam. But if you are not a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India you will need to have your transcripts evaluated by a service.
