What are the economic benefits to the City of the Lansdowne Partnership Plan?
It is estimated that the economic benefits to the City of the refurbishment of Frank Clair Stadium and Civic Centre arena will generate $7.8 million in indirect non-property tax revenues, over $60 million in labour income, and the creation of 1,230 full-time jobs. Upon reopening, the stadium and arena is expected to sustain over 280 full-time staff (directly and indirectly), generating over $9 million in labour income and almost $1 million in direct and indirect taxes to all levels of government annually. The retail complex is expected to generate $3.9 million in municipal tax revenues annually. Labour income generated through the construction of the retail complex will be almost $48 million and 977 jobs will be created. In general, the City will realize tax revenues and OSEG will realize a modest profit.
