I must take issue with the belief that Stanley fought to keep A Clockwork Orange from being re-issued. It was possible to see A Clockwork Orange anywhere else in the world except the UK. The reason being, NOT that he thought the wrong people were seeing the film, but that SOME people were threatening his and our lives. The film was not removed from the cinema circuits, it had finished it’s natural run. He asked WB’s to withdraw it, because the police had told him to take the death threats seriously.
