What are the drawbacks of buying a car imported from channel islands?
There should be no problem on a car with such low mileage and a warranty. Check the warranty can be transfered to a new owner and get confirmation from Ford not the seller.Some imports through the channel islands are cars destined for hot dry climates so minimal under seal is applied as UK use salt and grit in winter and a lot of other countries do not.So get a mechanic to check the car over The AA and the RAC both do vehicle condition reports these cost about £150 but can save a fortune if faults are discovered.I don’t think there would be an insurance hike on an import as long as it is UK specification but you need to check with your insurer and disclose it as non disclosure relevant or not can be reason for claims refusal.
