They are indicators of ‘hotness’. Going from blue via green and red to magenta, they signify the amount of interaction involving the member/mix that has taken place. The more interaction, the hotter the mix and/or member. Hotness is an indicator of what’s going on right now. A completely new member with a lot going on can easily have a higher hotness rating than an older member with plenty of mixes that is currently not enjoying the attention of the community. The blinking dot simply means that the member is online.
