What are the doshas and dhatus?
Answer- The dosha and dhatu are described in ayurveda as building blocks of the human body. The doshas are abstract phenomenon and cannot be described as the modern medicine describes the bodily constituencies. There are three doshas described in ayurveda. The vata dosha is described as the circulatory and conducting in nature. It resembles the neurological and circulatory system of the body. The pitta dosha has similar functions as of the metabolic regimes, and the kafa dosha can be taken as nutritional deposits and regimes that are similar to fat and other similar materials. There are seven dhatus in ayurveda. They are rasa (similar to digestive juice), rakta (blood), maansa (flesh), meda (fat), ashti (bones), majja (marrow), and shukra (semen).
