Federal law limits the amount of gross wages you may spend each month on tax-free transit. For 2001, the limits are $65 per month for transit or vanpools. In 2002, the transit limit will increase to $100. If you spend more than the limit for any given month, the excess will be deducted from your take-home (or after-tax) pay.
