What are the disadvantages or drawbacks of each RAID configuration?
Implementing either RAID array is very expensive due to the fact that you only have half of the entire hard drive space available to you. This is because all data is duplicated in both scenarios, thus splitting the entire capacity in half. As of the writing of this document (June 23, 2003) all of Gateway’s hardware RAID controllers support RAID 10. At this point, they do not support RAID 0+1 configurations.
