What are the disadvantages of wireless network service?
Because wireless network traffic is transmitted over radio waves, wireless networks are inherently less secure than wired networks. Authentication and encryption protocols are needed to secure data and limitations are required on the types of data that users can access. In addition, because bandwidth is shared on wireless networks, high bandwidth application use is impractical. Performance will decrease as the number of users increases within a single installation. Obstructions, such as thick walls, metal partitions, and outside sources of radio interference can all adversely affect wireless network performance.
