There is really no other comparison to make which would allow for clear advantages or disadvantages of fermentation of ethanol to come up. However, one thing you might consider a disadvantage is that it’s currently not very economically feasible to produce ethanol from the cellulose portion compared to sugars and starches. This is an emerging source of ethanol called cellulosic ethanol that is made from this “waste” product though that should eliminate this disadvantage.
