What are the disadvantages of genetic research?
Two of the biggest are the possible creation of: 1) “abhorrences”: mutant creatures created by unethical scientists, or by scientists who believe that the pursuit of research should be conducted without moral interference. For example, warped hybrid animals to be used in lab experiments, or genetically modified animals for food. 2) Biological weapons: For example, new forms of poisons or toxins, or weapons designed to kill people of a specific race or ethnicity. There is also the possibility of Eugenics becoming common place, or wealth people using genetic engineering to give their children an unnatural advantage. Such as making them smarter or stronger than everybody else. Hitler was a big fan of genetic research to build a perfect master race, and the Feds wanted to use it during the 1960s to create super soldiers to kick start the new world order. There are lots of good things, too. But you haven’t asked about them.
