Crowns should only be used when they are going to be a distinct advantage. From a dentist point of view, this usually means strengthening your tooth. If there is not enough natural tooth structure to hold the crown in place, then it could come off. This most commonly occurs for the little teeth 2nd from the front (lateral incisors) or for premolars. 2.
