What are the disadvantages of a split classroom?
Often the teachers must teach at a faster pace, other times the teachers must work at a slower pace in order to accommodate both grade levels. Students spend more time working independently and may at times receive less individualized attention from the teacher. The teachers need all the support they can get from the parent volunteers; the students need good independent working skills to really thrive in a split classroom.
