What are the disadvantages and advantages of using a computer as a learning tool in class?
Advantages: Its easier and funner to help young kids learn. Animations keep them occupied, Everything you would need them to know is on google/yahoo. Using a mouse is good for hand eye coordinatioin. Disadvantages: Kids dont use handwriting as much if they are typing, websites with free games such as mini clips and neopets can be distracting. Communication gets lower and therefore not as effective. I personally dont think kids should use it in school. Computers should be for ‘treats’ for younger kids. If they use it all the time then it can be bad for their sight and social skills.
