What are the Different Types of Softball Bats?
The Amateur Softball Association (ASA) is the governing body of softball in the United States. It’s responsible for the integrity of the sport includes certifying equipment used in the game, including bats used in game play. The ASA works with the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) to ensure safety and competitive equality through this program, dictating the specific structure and materials which can be used to create a bat. The ASA 2004 certification program approves of four types of bats.
