What are the different types of silicone sealants?
There are many different types of silicone sealants. Some silicone sealants are packed in two parts and when mixed together they cure rapidly to form a silicone rubber compound. Some silicone sealants are single component such as the RTV silicones. Other silicone sealants can be activated after application with a spray activator. The RTV silicone sealants differ in cure mechanism, strength, elongation, viscosity, colour, conductivity, adhesion, hardness, temperature resistance and oil tolerance.
