What are the different types of permissions?
To the right of the Edit permissions screen you will see an area that enables you to add permissions. Notice that there are some default groups available: • Any user, whether logged in or not (that is, anyone in the world) • Any University member (staff or student) • Staff and PG research students • Staff only You can also specify an individual by typing in their user code and selecting the permission level, or select a group of people (e.g. all ITS staff will have login codes starting with ‘cu’). Note: Login codes have 5 or 6 digits. The first two letters denote the department, for example ‘rt’ = Retail. The third letter denotes the user type, for example ‘s’, ‘r’ and ‘d’ are all types of staff. The remaining letters are consecutively issued to users. There is now also a tool available for creating certain groups or groups within groups that you can use both within SiteBuilder or the Forums and this is Warwick Web Groups.
