What are the different types of organizations at UBC?
The mens fraternities at the University of British Columbia belong to the Inter-Fraternity Council, or IFC. The womens fraternities and sororities are members of the Panhellenic Council. Both Councils are comprised of undergraduate chapter members, and serve as the governing bodies for the fraternities and sororities. Coming to university is one of the major life changes that your son or daughter will go through. Joining a fraternity or sorority helps students to feel acclimated to campus more quickly, and provides them with a structured atmosphere in which they can concentrate on scholarship, leadership, and service. Developing life-long friendships with the members in their chapter helps make the campus smaller. For many members, these chapters become a home away from home. Your son or daughter will also find personal growth and development extending far beyond his or her years
