What are the different types of lock and latch sets available and there use?
1. Mortise Locks and Latches. This is a lock box which is mortised into the edge of the door. The lock has the deadbolt and Latch function built into a single unit. They come in many functions from Entrance locks, Storeroom Locks, Privacy Locks, Passage Latch’s and many other specific functions to address special circumstances such as classroom doors. The use of Mortise locks ranges from High End Residential with Decorative Trim to enhance the decor of the home, to Commercial projects needing Industrial Strength Trim as well as Decorative Trim that will stand up to the rigors of heavy traffic. Mortise Locks are usually Grade 1. 2. Tubular Locks and Latch’s. Most Decorative Residential hardware is Tubular in design.
