What are the different types of jewel cases available?
The traditional jewel case is 10mm thick and consists of a case and separate tray. The tray is inserted into the case and holds the disc, and can come in black, white, and clear. An optional printed insert (tray card) may be placed beneath the tray; in addition, another printed insert of up to 32 pages may be inserted into the front of the case. Along with the traditional jewel case, Diversified stocks the maxi-slim and super maxi-slim. The maxi-slim jewel case is 7mm thick and is a single piece that uses the hub on the backside of the case to attach and hold the disc. In this piece, a front insert can be included but there is no spot for a tray card. Likewise, the super maxi-slim, which is 5.2mm thick, is a single piece constructed with a hub on the backside of the case that holds the discs. A third maxi-slim is available at 3.8mm. All maxi-slims come in a variety of colors and are a good alternative to the standard jewel case when multi-paged booklets or inserts are not a requirement
