What are the different types of Electronic Drums?
The first category of electronic percussion is drum machines. These look more like small handheld computers then musical instruments. Most drum machines boast well over 300 different drum sounds from all over the world with some having over 5 or 6 hundred different sounds. Drum Machines have come a long way from simply being able to give you a few choices of rhythm and then allowing you to adjust speed and sound. Now you can use one of the thousands of different rhythms or can compose your own rhythm with the drum machine. It also allows you to program whole songs with different variations of rhythm for the chorus, verse, and bridge of your song. The second category of electronic percussion is a drum pad. A drum pad is a small rectangle with 6 to 15 different small pads on it.
