What are the different types of cremation?
If you choose to cremate your pet, you may be asked if you prefer communal, private or individual cremation. Communal cremation is when multiple pets are simultaneously cremated and their ashes disposed of on private cemetery grounds or at a local landfill. With private cremation, 2, 3, or 4 pets are cremated at the same time, but are physically separated by space or cremation bricks. The cremated remains are then processed in a commercial blender to attain a fine ash consistency and eliminate visible bone fragments. With individual cremation, a single animal is cremated at a time. In terms of cost, individual cremation is the most expensive, followed by private cremation; communal cremation is the least expensive option.
