What are the different types of Carbs?
there are two types of carbs, simple and complex. Simple carbs are usually things that have lots of sugar in them, and have low nutritional value, cakes for example. Complex carbs are things like rice and pasta, they give you a good amount of energy, but also ar harder to break down, meaning you should try and take them early in the day so your body can use the carbs for energy (fuelling your day) rather than turning any unused carbs into fat. Basically complex carbs should be consumed before 5pm at the latest, otherwise when you go to sleep your body may still be processing them and as you are not using them for energy you will just be putting on fat. Low carb diet are a no-no for me, i have a bodyfat % of 9% and i’m 15 stone. The key to losing weight (i’m assuming that is why you are on a low-carb diet) is exercise, because in theory you can eat what you want as long as you exercise enough (and essentially burn more calories than you consume).
