What are the different time zone?
There are 40 time zones in the world. Actually there are 24 time zones carved up into 40 to accommodate individual countries and territories. Time zones are centered around Greenwich Mean Time, a bluff on the bank of the Thames River in London. Time zones west of GMT are preceded by a negative mark (-6 GMT) because that is the number of hours they are behind Greenwich. Times east of GMT are preceded by a positive mark (+8 GMT) because that is the number of hours they are ahead of Greenwich.
