What are the different specialties available to a Sonographer?
Some of the specialties include abdomen, breast, obstetrics, neurosonology, cardiac, and opthamology. So as you can see, sonography is being used for many different types of diagnoses, from the head to the toes! What is the career outlook for a Sonographer? Sonography is an ever-changing career, with ever-increasing technological uses. It has grown significantly over the last twenty or so years, and it is expected to keep growing into the next decade. Opportunities for qualified sonographers are going to be increasing every year for rural and urban areas across the nation. Sonography provides the chance to work in a hospital, a clinic, private physician’s office and even laboratories. I have known all my life that I wanted a career that allowed me to help people, and have often expressed the desire to be a doctor. However, God has a funny sense of humor and did NOT bless me with a stomach that can handle most medical situations. Sonography is giving me the ability to make a difference
