What are the Different Skin Types?
Normal skin has a clean and clear complexion. This is the skin type that is what people see as the “ideal”. It has normal sebum production, has a smooth and plump appearance and medium to fine pores. It will usually have an even skin tone. Oily skin may have a shiny appearance. That’s due to the excess sebum production. (Sebum=oil) People with oily skin are prone to breakouts. Their skin may have a thicker appearance, and their pores will be larger around your nose and cheeks. Oily skin is also sometimes called combination skin, if the oily sections are focused only on the T-Zone of the forehead and nose region. Oily skin can sometimes have a sallow appearance. Dry skin has a tendency to have a thin appearance. It may feel tight, or look flaky. People with dry skin can be prone to sensitivity.
