There are three different types of systems involved when installing a PowerEdge Expandable RAID Controller’s Power Console remote client utility: • Registration server This server is responsible for accepting registration requests from each of the servers with PowerEdge Expandable RAID Controller cards. There can only be one registration server on the network, and it can be running the Novell NetWare 3.12, 4.10, or 4.11 operating system or the Windows NT 3.51 or 4.0 Server operating system. It does not have to be a server with a PowerEdge Expandable RAID Controller card. • Console server This server is any server that has a PowerEdge Expandable RAID Controller card that you want to manage across the network.
