What are the different layers of the ocean and what makes each one different?
What animals live in the different layers of the ocean? Why do certain animals live in each layer of the ocean? Learners Students grades 2 – 3. Hawaii Content Standards and Benchmarks Unity and Diversity – Students examine the unity and diversity of organisms and how they can be compared scientifically. Benchmark 1 – Describe the similarities and differences of plants and animals in their appearances, behaviors and habitats. Benchmark 2 – Identify the different and functions of organisms that allow them to survive in the environment. Knowledge and skills Computer skills: Keyboarding/word processing, surfing the net, netiquette. Language arts: Reading, research and report writing. Process Learning activities: Task 1 – Students will select and do research on one of the animals from the pre-selected list. Task 2 – Based on their findings, the students will form groups according to the ocean layer/zone in which their animal lives and create a mural showing the animals in their ocean layer/
