What are the different grades of wood for hive bodies and supers?
Select – This grade is made of select lumber, which only allows for small, tight knots. Commercial – This is the most common grade requested by our customers and what is used in all of our kits. This grade is functionally sound with an allowance for small visual defects. Tight knots are permitted. Budget – Loose knots and milling defects are permitted, as are cracks.
