What are the different digital audio formats and which ones does Time2Digitize offer ?
Digital audio formats can be classified into lossy and lossless groups. Lossy formats approximate the audio that you hear and discard the audio that is inaudible. Lossless formats store the complete audio data. Both these formats use compression to reduce the space used. Lossy formats (like MP3, OGG, AAC) result in smaller audio file sizes when compared to lossless formats (like FLAC). Out of all the audio formats available today, MP3 file format is by far the most widely used since it was at the right place at the right time during the late nineties. Since then, MP3 format has increased in quality and there are even some MP3 encoders that produce output comparable to more recent audio formats. We offer converted digital audio files in a very high quality MP3 file format since it is recognized by the most number of hardware and software music players. For custom orders, we also offer converted digital audio files in the OGG, AAC and FLAC file formats.
