What are the different cultures and religions to be encountered on Uganda safaris?
This country has long been a cultural melting pot, and the kingdoms of Buganda, Bunyoro, Ankole and Toro (descendants of the medieval kingdoms of Batembuzi and Bacwezi) make up the cultural core of modern-day Uganda. Also represented are the Karimojong (traditional pastoralists), the Bakonjo and the Bagisu. The majority of the population is Christian, while Muslim and indigenous beliefs are also represented.
