What are the different components of domain name?

A Domain Name is a combination of two or more words. The last word is called “Top Level Domain”. A Top-Level Domain (TLD) is the suffix that is attached to the end of a domain name. For instance, in the domain name, eventualads.com, “.com” is the TLD. Global Top Level Domains (gTLD) i.e. .org, .net, .com can be registered by anybody. To the left of TLD comes “second level domain”. E.g. In ‘eventualads.com’,eventualads is second level domain, ‘.com’ is TLD. One can also have ‘my.eventualads.com’ here ‘my’ is called the host name or sub domain.
