The three organizations which have the best reputations for strict, consistent grading-and whose coins therefore enjoy the greatest acceptance in sight-unseen trading-are the Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS), the Numismatic Guaranty Corporation of America (NGC), and ANACS. Only ANACS accepts submissions directly from the general public. In the other two cases, you must take your coins to an authorized dealer member of the service whose certification you are seeking. The dealer will then submit the coins to the service on your behalf. (PCGS accepts coins directly from ANA members).
