What are the differences/similarities between Info-Gaps tradeoff curves and the famous Pareto Frontiers?
Answer-63: Info-Gap’s tradeoff curves (between performance and robustness) are typical examples of the famous Pareto Frontier. It is therefore utterly incomprehensible that no indication whatsoever is given in either edition (Ben-Haim 2001, 2006) of this fact. Both editions of the Info-Gap book burst with discussions (supported by curves) describing tradeoffs between robustness and performance yet, nowhere is it made clear that these are Pareto tradeoffs. In fact, the term Pareto is not even listed in the subject index of these books. It is important to call attention to this fact if only for the reason that — as my experience has shown — newcomers to the field have the impression that the idea of robustness/performance tradeoffs is an Info-Gap innovation.
