What are the differences in the 91-94 Lumina Z34s?
For the most part, the Z34 barely changed during it’s 4 year production run. Performance wise the 1991-93 automatics were all rated at 200 horsepower and manuals rated at 210. 1991-94 torque specs were all rated at 215. The manual transmission was only offered in 91-93. In 1994 a Mass Air Flow sensor was added to the intake, along with possible computer tuning bringing the stock horsepower rating of an automatic 94 Z34 to 210(also the same in the 95 3.4 DOHC). The 96-97 3.4 DOHC found in the Monte Carlo Z34 was rated at 215 horsepower and 215 torque. The 91 Z34 had different seats, a different fluid reservoir tank, no ABS, and also seem to have the most bugs being that it was the first year of production. Minor cosmetic differences include wheel well molding on 91 and 92 Z34’s, painted black inserts on the 93-94 stock wheels, radiator overflow tank differences, and some other possible very small differences from year to year.
