A. a USA phone, works only on GSM 850/1900Mhz, UK uses GSM 900/1800Mhz if you are unlocking a USA Phone it will not work in the UK unless it is a Triband Handset. It will however be unlocked to work on any network within the issuing country. UK uses GSM 900 and GSM 1800…… USA uses GSM 850 and GSM 1900….. tri band handsets support 3 network frequencies (i.e. 900/1800/1900) Quad band supports all four GSM frequencies (i.e. 900/1800/850/1900).
