What are the differences between Windows 2000 and Windows 95/98?
Windows 95/98 were conceived by Microsoft for a consumer-level marketplace and are priced accordingly. Windows 2000, on the other hand, is geared more for the professional and business user. Some of the major differences are the level of hardware needed to run each OS well: Windows 95/98 can work on a machine with less than 64MB of RAM, while Win2000 needs 64MB or better to run decently.
