Monash University implemented the ‘Education Edition’ of Google Apps for staff, which is a scaled down version with premium support provided to education institutions free of cost. The ‘Education edition’ includes the following applications: • Google Mail (with 7.5GB of email quota) • Calendar • Chat (or Talk) • Sites • Docs • Groups (to be released at Monash end 2010) Note: Monash students currently only have Gmail, Calendar, Chat and Docs. Under the Public offering, there are also other applications available eg Google Scholar. The level of sharing information within Google Apps at Monash is controlled at an administration level to meet privacy and security requirements.
