What are the differences between the various types of TPI test leads?
Push-on tip test leads • Limited adaptability. Accept push on alligator clips only. • Made of PVC insulation Screw-on tip test leads • More adaptability. Allows attachment of screw on accessories like alligator clips and adapters. More secure attachment than straight tipped test leads • Screw on tip test leads can be converted to modular test leads using the A052 modular adapters. • Made of PVC or Silicone insulation depending on lead. Modular test leads • Most adaptability. Allows selection of different ends or tips for varying applications. One modular lead can be used as a grabber, back probe, standard lead, etc. • Lead ends and tips are easily interchanged. Fused test leads • Increased safety over standard non-fused test leads. Fuses in a tester protect the tester; fused test leads protect the user. • Used for additional safety when making voltage measurements.
