What are the differences between the SoundFont packs and the normal wav packs?

It is important that you are fully aware of what a SoundFont is and how to use it. If you are unclear then please read this SoundFonts. In terms of pack count and quality: You get more sounds in the SoundFont packs, approximately 600 samples against the 192 in the wav packs. However, the wav packs have been processed and are offered far more ‘coloured’ than the SoundFont packs. The reason for this is that SoundFont packs carry over well to any software that can read the format, but cannot carry over efx or filter settings. So, in most instances the sounds are not as meaty, but are they are still top quality fonts, that can then be shaped and treated in any way you see fit. The other advantage to using SoundFonts, is that the real hard work has been done for you. In effect, you simply load a font and you have all the sounds mapped across your keyboard, and ready to be played.
