What are the differences between the linnean classification system and the artificial key?

The linnean classsification system is based on the flower structure of plants. This is classed as a natural key as by examining the flower you can determine which family, genus and species it is. All plants over the earth can be identified using this method. An artifical key would use a classification such as size, eg in a wood in a temperate climate the largest tree may be an oak. This key is then useless if used anywhere else eg the largest tree in a tropical wood is not an oak, it will be something else, even though there may be similar species to the oak though not the tallest compared to a tropical species.
