What are the differences between the FZ1 and FZ2?
The FZ2 has the following operational additions to the FZ1: A Shutter Priority mode (1/2000 to 8 seconds in 1/3EV steps). An Aperture Priority mode (f/2.8 to f/8.0 in 1/3EV steps). Manual white balance adjustment up to +/-1500K in 300K steps, in all white balance modes except [AUTO]. The zoom magnification ratio is shown on the LCD and the EVF (as 1X to 12X). Slightly lower JPEG compression in the 1600 x 1200 mode supposedly resulting in higher quality (but file size is increased by 1520%). The FZ2 stays at full aperture and max ISO until you depress the shutter button. This helps focusing and framing in dim lighting. Some of the functional differences are presented in this table. In addition, the [Normal] (red camera picture) dial position is designated [P/A/S] (for Program / Aperture / Shutter exposure modes) on the FZ2 and it has an additional rubber washer somewhere inside.
