The Dumb Mount contains no electronics it only allows for the proper mounting of Canon EF / EF-S lenses. you have to set f-stop (with a Canon camera) and focus manually. The Smart Mount contains electronics that communicate with a controller box that allows for control of f-stop and focus and has an LCD read out of current mode and current f-stop value. The Pro Smart Mount all the features of the Smart Mount, in addition to wireless capabilities and advanced level controls for focus pulling.
