What are the differences between the “A” and “B” versions of the ProCurve Switch GL 10/100-TX module (J4862A and J4862B)?

A component was changed on the module that required an update to the software. The product number was therefore changed since the “B” version of this module requires software version G.05.02 or later. There is no change in price, performance, or functionality due to this component change. The J4862A and J4862B modules can both be used in the same 4100gl series switch at the same time as long as the switch is running software version G.05.02 or later. The software required for the “B” version of the module has been available since April 2002, and can be downloaded from “Software updates” page.
