What are the differences between screen printed, appliqud, and embroidered flags?
Screen printed flags begin as a blank flag which then has the images printed onto it using special inks designed for UV resistance. Screen printing is ideal for large quantity orders or orders which have extremely complex artwork. Screen printed flags have a minimum order quantity of six pieces. Appliqud flags also begin as a blank flag. Additional nylon is then sewn down onto the flag and hand-trimmed in the shape of letters, numbers, or other artwork. This type of flag is ideal for indoor or outdoor use and can be economically purchased as a single flag or in quantities. Embroidered flags are created using only stitched thread on a blank flag. This process is generally used on smaller sizes of the U.S. flag for the stars, when large computer controlled machines sew many flags at the same time. It is a very expensive process for custom flags and requires longer lead times.
