Having lived in Paris for a year and visited Nice and the south of France, I’d go with Nice. Paris is an amazing city, but if you’re into nature in any shape or form, Paris is pretty much the concrete jungle. Not to mention, I think most Americans end up in Paris and there’s plenty of competition among them for English-speaking jobs. While I loved the museums, the history and culture of Paris, nothing really beats walking along the Mediterranean every day! I also found people in the south of France to be a lot more friendly. Some people told me people are more superficial in the south, but I didn’t encounter that too much. I guess with the Cannes film festival every year, along with the beauty of the sea and sunshine, there is a bit of ritz and glitz. Monaco being the epicenter of ritz! But Monaco is absolutely amazing. In fact, all the little towns along the riviera are just fantastic. And Italy is super close. Whereas, living in Paris, I found myself going on trips to England, Belgiu
